AVT-Airborne Sensing GmbH (AVT-AS) has freshly emerged from the two aerial surveying companies Weser Airborne Sensing (Germany) and Terra Messflug (Austria), and is 100% owned by Vermessung AVT-ZT-GmbH.

As part of the AVT Group, we have over 50 years of experience in aerial photography in all Europe with projects of various size, from local to national scale, and extremely different topography.

Our services cover the entire workflow of photogrammetry, from aerial photography to 3D geospatial data production.

Our processing chain guarantees efficient and fast projects development. State and regional spatial data authorities, municipalities, infrastructure operators, energy suppliers, engineering offices, universities and private clients are among our customers.

We have three aircrafts based in Münster-Osnabrück (Germany) and Salzburg (Austria) airports, as well as four UltraCam aerial cameras suitable for nadir and oblique aerial survey.

Orthophotos are created from the individual aerial images after their orientation is estimated. The aerial images are rectified on a digital elevation model (terrain or surface model), then merged into a homogeneous mosaic, using suitable transitions and color adjustments between the individual aerial images.

We produce both conventional DTM-based orthophotos, obtained by rectifying the images on the digital terrain model, as well as the new DSM-based orthophotos, or true-orthophotos, that are produced using the digital surface model as projection surface and therefore do not show the building leaning effect.

Another focus is the creation of orthophotos from historical aerial photographs.

We execute oblique image flights with the camera UltraCam Osprey Mark 3 Prime. This camera is a photogrammetric system in which both vertical and oblique aerial images inclined to the front, back, left and right are recorded. The oblique shots improves the visibility of the building facades and allow stereo or multi-view plotting of building features generally hidden in the conventional vertical images, more detailed automatic surface modelling of urban environments, and realistic texturing of individual buildings or entire city models.

The SURE software is used to derive 3D point clouds from oriented measurement images. Depending on the ground resolution and the overlap of the aerial images, point clouds with over 500 points / m² can be created. The point clouds always contain the color information (RGB and IR) of the aerial photos. In urban environments they offer a very good alternative to laser scanning. In addition to point clouds, we create 2.5D and 3D meshes.

The in-house software Geobly is designed for the visualization and restitution of geometry in oblique aerial images by experts and non-experts users. In Geobly the five aerial views on a certain object are displayed side by side and it is possible to navigate and zoom. Points and lines can be plotted in 3D directly in the images, and lengths and areas can be calculated. The measurements can be exported for further exploitation in GIS or CAD environments.

We also offer automatically generated and textured 3D models from aerial photos for photorealistic visualizations, as well as hand-modeled models based on current standards.
